The Rewind: Loom’s 2024 Year in Review

One second it's early 2024 and you're thinking to yourself, "I'm going to get some work done." The next, you pop your head up from a deep focus and you're wrapping up the year.

2024 was a year full of focus. Here at Loom, we were focused on one thing: saving you time to make sure you can focus on the work that counts.

• Launching AI workflows so you could speed up important tasks by turning your video into a written doc.

• Introducing a centralized home for video editing that allows you polish your Looms without re-recording.

• Announcing integrations for Jira and Confluence so you could seamlessly record Looms to add context to issues or embed in pages.

• Introducing new tools for sellers, helping people reach their quota faster

We are on a mission to empower everyone at work to communicate more effectively, wherever they are. In 2024 we've seen incredible stories of productivity and creativity unfold. Loom customers recorded 88M videos this year, reducing the need for 202M meetings*. Here are some of the milestones and achievements that made 2024 unforgettable. 

In 2024, Loom users created 38M videos with Loom AI (49M total since launching the feature last year!). Loom AI gives you the best video communication experience by doing a ton of legwork for you, and helping you save time. We've expanded the AI suite even more to double down on those time-saving features.

• Auto CTA: When you record a voiceover on a document or presentation, Loom AI automatically adds that browser link as a call-to-action on your finished video. 

• Loom AI Workflows: Record your Loom video as normal to narrate logging an issue, documenting a process, or performing a code review. Loom's AI transcription automatically generates a written doc from your video. With a click, copy and paste the transcribed doc directly to your favorite tools like Confluence, GitHub, and more. Or, use our connection to Jira and Linear to auto-create a ticket or task.

The days of re-recording multiple takes are over. This year we launched even more editing features so you could make the sharpest, most accurate edits to your videos, ensuring your content is polished to perfection. Loom users edited 3M videos in 2024 using:

• Live Rewind: Easily pause and trim mid-recording, allowing you to seamlessly correct any mistakes in real-time.

• Edit Video by Transcript: Delete words from the transcript and watch as your Loom instantly updates.

• Precision Editing: Zoom into the timeline up to 50X for pinpoint editing and fine-tuning.

After Loom joined the Atlassian team in October 2023, we committed to building deep integrations across the Atlassian ecosystem to bring instant, magical video messages to transform the way teams work together. And that’s exactly what we’ve done. 

• Loom in Confluence: With our new integration, you can record Looms from directly within Confluence. Hit “Record a Loom Video” in a space, on a page or blog, in an inline comment or even in a whiteboard to drive projects forward faster.

• Loom in Jira: Record new or insert existing Loom videos directly into Jira issues. Video adds context to your existing documentation so you can avoid the back and forth.

• Loom + Salesforce Integration: Auto-track your Loom engagement data like views, comments, and reactions all within Salesforce. You can pinpoint highly engaged customers and top-performing content to optimize your outreach

• Request Email to View: Ask anonymous viewers to provide an email to play your video, putting you in the know every time.

• Variables (beta): Record a Loom once and personalize it endlessly. Variables generate multiple versions of your video with custom titles, audio, and transcripts for each viewer.

• Making Loom AI even smarter with automated screenshots and instantly drafted Confluence docs.

• Enhancing viewing so you can consume a Loom in the format that works best for you: read an AI-generated doc alongside a video you’ve received.

• New edit functionality, including top requests voted on by customers. We’ll be introducing editing capabilities ideal for creating evergreen content: overlaid images, text, and borders to spotlight key information.

• Loom AI for meeting recordings, so you're never losing an action item or decision – deploying an AI-powered meeting assistant in virtual meetings to automatically record, take detailed notes, extract action items, and send follow-ups to meeting attendees. 

• A seamless experience across the Atlassian product suite, bringing Loom more deeply into Jira, Confluence, Rovo and more.
