How to grab a screenshot

1. Manually capture your screen

  1. On Windows, press Windows key + Shift + S, or on Mac, press Command + Shift + 4.
  2. Highlight the specific portion of your screen to capture.
  3. Save your screenshot and share it immediately or store it for later use.

While effective for basic screen grabs, these steps lack advanced editing and sharing features. This might limit your screen grab’s usability for reporting issues or creating guides.

2. Use Loom to grab your screenshot

  1. Open Loom’s desktop app or Chrome extension and click the camera icon next to the video icon to access the screen grabber.
  2. Choose your screenshot type by selecting either Custom area or Current tab and then click Select area to proceed with grabbing your screen.
  3. In the Loom’s screenshot editor, you can click Edit image to annotate your screenshot with text, shapes, or arrows to highlight key points.
  4. Click Save and copy link once done. Your screenshot is saved in Loom’s cloud library, where it’s readily accessible from My Library.
