Hey, George here from the product marketing team at loom. And I want to talk to you about using asynchronous video for your work.
So it's, this video is just a smarter way to work. I like to think of it as the three E's, it's more efficient, more effective and more expressive.
It's more efficient because it allows you to reduce the amount of meetings that you have, or add a context before meeting or share contacts before meeting.
And so you can really keep your work unblocked because things aren't dependent on actually finding time on the calendar in which everyone can meet up together during live synchronous time.
It's really effective because you don't really sacrifice the context and clarity that you get with synchronous time. Cause you can, you know, see me my T hear the tone of my voice.
You can see what I'm seeing on my screen. So it's, it's a very clear way of communicating and finally it's expressive.
So it allows you to feel connected the same way that's effective. You know, it allows you to hear the tone of my voice.
You know, you can see that like I'm a real person and, and for this, you know, it's not only great for your collaborating with your team, but also for outreach to, you know, a potential customer or to a new person on your team.
It's really good way to sort of make introductions and sort of present yourself to someone new. So the other thing about using loom and sort of adopting an async mindset with video, you know, the, the things that people ask often are like, how do I do this?
You know, how do I get started? And it is really sort of a mind shift in mindset that you have to take on.
So some of the things I tell people to do is really default to is sync. Whenever you think about communicating with someone.
So, you know, do I really need to schedule this meeting and have you know, five or 10 people and, you know, it can only happen a week from now, or can I you know, get a decision made or share information just as effectively through a sync video.
The other thing that I recommend people do is just to try out new use cases. A lot of people come to loom with, you know, oh, I want to use it for like, just feedback.
And I think that's great that the way you're going to get the most value from the product and really sort of see the the, the transformative effect it can have across your whole workflow is by trying it out for different things.
So share how tos or demos, or just use it to explain the different process to someone and, and, and deals find that these different ways of using the product can really, you know, not only accelerate how you're doing work, but really improve the connection and collaboration that you're experiencing with your team.
And then finally, you know, a lot of people also asked, you know, how do I get the rest of my team to use a sync video?
And the real key here is to, to, to show and lead by example. So, you know, send videos to your team and, you know, you can, they'll see by the fact that, you know, like, oh, async video, it's actually, you know, respecting my time.
And it's just as clear, they'll see the value and experience that value, and that's the best way to get them on board.
So I hope this has been helpful and happy recording, but.
